HURON CAPITAL PARTNERS SETS SAIL WITH $72M FINAL FUND CLOSING
The principals of Huron Capital Partners are pleased to announce the final closing of The Huron Fund Limited Partnership, a Detroit-based private equity investment fund dedicated to the acquisition of smaller privately-held companies. Initially launched on July 30, 1999, the fund was recently closed to new investors after raising $72 million in committed capital, well in excess of the original target of $50 million. Huron’s capital base is provided by a diversified mix of well-known financial institutions, prominent wealthy families, and senior operating executives. Huron’s institutional investors represent some of the largest banks in the country, including National City Capital Corp., Michigan National Corp., Bank of America, and Comerica.
Huron is focused on investing in smaller, growing middle-market companies - a segment of the market where capital has traditionally been scarce. Huron is dedicated to sponsoring management-led buyouts and recapitalizations of companies throughout the U.S. having revenues between $10 million and $100 million. The key to Huron’s investment strategy is partnering and working closely with strong management teams in acquiring niche manufacturing, valued-added service, and specialty distribution companies that can be built through acquisition and internal growth. As a smaller fund, Huron has the flexibility to customize each transaction structure to help meet the individual business and personal objectives of all parties. Huron’s typical investment ranges from $3 million to $10 million.
The fund is managed by its general partner, Huron Capital Partners LLC, an investment management company comprised of seasoned investment professionals.
